Why is this topic linked below locked? The problem is not resolved yet, and people are still having issues. Blinking black cursor on HTC Desire Eye, Android 5.0.1 (no system updates available). The cursor spills over into other applications, rapidly blinking right in the center of the screen.

This is a major bug, because if you have your phone locked with a swipe pattern, and maps was the last application running before your phone screen auto turns off, when you go to turn your phone on again, you'll NEVER be able to unlock your phone until you do a force restart.

The last stable version of Maps that runs on the HTC Desire Eye, currently, is Maps 9.34.1, but backtracking to an older version is not a stable long term solution for such a major application. Maps is factory locked in many OEM ROMs, and we can't remove it.

Is Google going to continue ignoring this major bug, or are they going to do something to fix it?
